Chapter 19

Roli was pissed off with the happenings as she walked out of the parking lot. She did not want to do what she did a while ago. But, her temper was something she could have no control of. 

"Madam, do I call another driver to come and pick you up?" The driver asked. 

"No, it's okay. I will go by taxi" Roli replied with a sigh as she tried to calm her mood. 

Roli waited there for a few minutes for taxi while a group of people crowded at the entrance of the mall. Hearing to distinct chattering, Roli turned to find Nia in the middle of the crowd. Just then Nia's gaze too fell on Roli. Nia watched her with fury while faking a smile at the people around her and Roli calmly turned her face away. 

Soon catching a taxi, Roli reached home. Sid was on bed, leaning to the headboard and reading something. 

"What are you doing?" Roli queried but got no response from him as he was deeply immersed in reading. Roli got on bed with her hands on her hip, glared at Sid for not paying attention to her. 

"I asked what are you doing?" Roli snatched the papers from him and looked in to it, making him to raise his head. 

"I was reading the script but now you will not let me" Sid sighed as he watched her reading like an attentive school kid. 

After reading a few lines of the script, Roli turned to Sid excitedly "wow! This is so good". 

"Yeah. That's why I'm interested in making a film on it" Sid replied. 

"Really? I'm waiting to watch it already" Roli was super excited. 

"You seem to like the story a lot" Sid chuckled, watching her excitement.

"I loved it" Roli turned to the papers and continued to read. 

"Then why don't you act in it? Casting is not finalized yet" Sid utter after a thought. 

Roli stared at him for a couple of seconds and said "I'm not doing it anymore. And now don't disturb me". She then again turned to the story. 

"You can read it later, now I have to finalize this script and for that I have to finish reading it" Sid pulled out the script from Roli's hands. 

Roli glared at him and took other scripts laying on bed near Sid. While reading a particular script, something striked in her mind. She glanced at Sid, who was busy with his work. 

"Sid" Roli called, poking her finger at his arm to gain his attention. 

"Hmm" Sid hummed without looking at her while continuing to read the script. 

Roli pouted for not so attentive response. But, soon smirked thinking about her idea, which would surely gain his whole attention. 

"You want me to act, right? I will do" sure enough, Sid's heat shot up in surprise as soon as she said these words. 

"Really?" Sid asked in surprise. As far as he knew her, she would not do anything once she was decided not to do it. He was, however, surprised to hear what she just said. 

"Yeah. But, for this story" Roli flashed the script that she was reading a while ago. 

Sid retrieved it from her and took a look at the story. The moment he had read a few lines, he realised what Roli was trying to do. 

"Do you want to do this?" Sid asked with a calm face. Roli nodded while controlling her giggle. 

"Fine. I will inform the director that we got the female lead" Sid spoke, making roli froze at her place. 

Roli was shocked at his response. She clearly did not expect him to agree because the script which she chose was a love story with a bit more romantic scenes between the main leads. While the story which Sid had asked her to act in was a suspense thriller without any scope for romance. She was just trying to pull his legs by making him feel jealous. But, to her surprise he agreed without a word and started searching for his phone to inform the director. 

"Hello, Mr. Singhania" Sid spoke through phone while Roli widened her eyes in shock. 

"Sid, no!" Leaning on to Sid, Roli immediately snatched the phone from Sid and tried to end the call. But, got surprised as she found there was no ongoing call. 

With a frown she looked up at Sid, who was chuckling silently. It was then Roli had realised that he tricked her. Closing her eyes she cursed herself for such a stupid idea. 

"Do you really want to act in it?" Sid asked as he wrapped his arms around her waist and held her close to him. 

Raising her head to look at him, Roli glared and threatened "do you want me to break your bones?".

"What did I do, Roli?" Sid asked, innocently. 

"Stop playing dumb and leave me" Roli shoved his hands and got up from him. Sid pulled her back before she could move away from him and caged in between his arms.

"I very well know what runs in this little brain of yours. You really think that you can make me fool?" Sid raised his eyebrows. 

"No need to make. You are already a fool" roli stated, gaining a calm stare from Sid. 

"Oops.. I forgot to tell you something" Roli sat up straight, facing him as she suddenly got reminded of something. While Sid frowned at her sudden alertness. 

"I happened to meet Nia today" Roli said.

"Nia? Who?" Sid frowned, making roli surprised.

"Nia Mehra, actress. You don't know her?" Roli asked in disbelief. "You were about to get married to her then how come you not know about her?" Roli wondered. 

"That wedding announcement was done by my dad. I don't know her personally" Sid calmly answered. He rarely interacted with Nia at few events and was not much close to her, not anyone else other than Roli and Akash for that matter.

"Did you fight with her?" Sid queried.

"Am I that violent?" Roli glared at him. 

"Then who is the one that almost broke a girl's hand back in school?" Sid chuckled remembering the incident when a girl from his class was telling everyone that he was her boyfriend. When Roli got to know about it, she directly went to beat up the girl. 

"I would have broken all of her bones if you had not stopped me. How dare she told everyone that you are her boyfriend?" Roli was annoyed reminding of that girl. 

"That's what I'm saying. Roli and violence are like soul sisters" Sid laughed at her possessiveness for him. Also he loves when she'd show her rights on him. 

"Shh.. now listen to me" Roli huffed at his statement and started narrating the incident at shopping mall. 

"You didn't get hurt, right?" After listening everything, Sid placed his left palm on her right cheek and asked with concern. 

"I didn't. But, our car's door got broken and her car's glass" Roli replied. 

"That doesn't matter" Sid responded with his usual calmness. 

"What if I really broke her head? Would it still doesn't matter to you?" Roli raised her eyebrows as if she was expecting a honest answer from him. 

"As long as you're fine, nothing else matters" Sid answered with all seriousness that melted Roli's heart. 

"Aww.. you should start writing dialogues for your movies" Roli pinched his cheeks. Sid remained calm, watching her smiling. That smile was the only thing he would wish for. 

- Mehra Mansion -

Nia entered the house and found her parents watching TV. She directly went and switched off the TV, disturbing them. 

"Why did you switch off the TV? We were watching your interview" Anand Mehra, Nia's father, frowned. 

"I don't want to see that damn shopping mall" Nia felt frustrated as it reminded her of Roli. 

"You went for the opening ceremony of a shop, right? Why are you so angry? What happened?" Anand queried. 

"I'm angry because of a girl. Does she even know who am I? If not for that opening ceremony and all the media over there, I would have taught her a lesson" Nia settled down in sofa, angrily. 

"She might be an anti-fan. It's not new for you to face them" Anand replied casually. 

"I don't care who she is. But, I will surely teach her a good lesson if I find her again" Nia said, determined. 

"Well, leave that and tell me when is my wedding?" Throwing away the shopping mall incident from her mind, Nia turned to her father with excitement. 

"Wedding?" Nia's parents stared at eachother without knowing how to inform her. 

"What's that look?" Nia looked at her parents alternatively. She was out of the country for a film shooting all the while and returned only today. So, she still did not know about Sid's rejection for the alliance. 

"Your wedding... Just leave about it" Anand somehow pushed the words out. 

"Leave it? Are you serious, dad? How I can just leave my wedding with Sid? You know how it will benefit my career, right?" Nia said as she glared at her father.

"I know, Nia. But, it can't happen now. Sid rejected the alliance" Anand sighed.

"What do you mean? How can Sid reject me? Can he get anyone better than Nia Mehra?" Nia uttered in self pride. 

"Sid already has someone he loves it seems" Anand informed.

"What?! The guy who never even interacts with a woman properly has a lady love too?" Nia was stunned. 

"Yeah. His dad told us that he has a childhood sweetheart, whom he is so obsessed with" Anand replied. 

"Childhood sweetheart? God! this guy is unimaginable!" Nia rolled her eyes in disbelief. 

"Whatever it is, Sid rejected our alliance. So, let's just forget about it. I will find even more deserving guy for you" Anand tried to boost his daughter. 

"Dad, please! I'm not interested in this stupid marriage thing at all. The only reason I said yes for alliance with Sid is because of his reputation which would help me in advancing my career" Nia stated the facts. 

"And let me handle Sid. I will see how can he reject Nia Mehra. If I go and meet him directly, I'm sure he can't say no to my beauty" Nia spoke, arrogantly. 

"But, he already has someone in his life" Anand tried to reason. 

"Yeah, a childhood sweetheart. But, it's too childish for me to believe. Let me find out who she is then I will show her true place where she belongs to, which is definitely not in Sid's life" Nia smirked. 

"Something is wrong with you today. First that shopping mall girl and now Sid's girlfriend. I don't know why you're taking it so seriously" Anand shook his head, helplessly. 

"Dad, please don't remind me of that shopping mall girl" Nia yelled. 

"I will neither leave that shopping mall girl nor Sid's so called childhood sweetheart. I will deal with both of them" Nia stated with determination. 

Little did she knew was both of them were one and the same person.
