Chapter 20

"One hundredth time!" Roli exasperated as she answered the call. 

"Huh?" Sid frowned at her unrelated response. 

"It's one hundredth time you are calling me since I left home this morning" Roli explained letting out a deep sigh. 

"I just called to know if you have returned home" Sid responded, leaning back on his chair.

"Party is about to end. I will be reaching home soon" Roli informed.  

"Okay. Take care" Sid reminded with concern. 

"Yes, boss" Roli smiled at his protectiveness. 

Roli ended the call and heard Trisha teasing "seems like someone is super busy with their someone special". 

Rolling her eyes, Roli turned to Trisha and replied "Are you jealous of me that you're not getting attention from your special one?". 

Roli pointed at Varun, who was busy chatting with others at a little distance from them. Trisha glanced at Varun before turning to Roli and admitted "May be yes". 

"Just look at this unpopular celebrity being busy with his co-actors, forgetting me. And your Sid, though being busy, always looking out for you" Trisha stared at Varun as she complained about him. 

"Unpopular celebrity! He will surely suffer a heartache if he knows about this new title of his" Roli laughed, watching Varun with pity. 

"The term celebrity is still over rated for him" Trisha rolled her eyes.

"Stop being a pity girlfriend now. He is so happy with all this surprise you have planned for him that he almost cried out of happiness" Roli cheered her friend. 

"That's because he knew you have helped me with the planning. He is scared of getting your punches if he had not appreciated your efforts" Trisha stated. 

"Whatever. Party has ended now and I'm leaving" Roli said as she got prepared to leave. 

"Yeah, you should leave. Someone is waiting for you" Trisha winked her eyes. Shaking her head, Roli left the party.

After talking to Roli on phone, Sid got back to his work. While he was busy with his work, there was a knock on the door. He assumed it would be his secretary Sumit. But, the moment the person stepped in his cabin, Sid was more than surprised. 

"See, I followed you even to India" the person spoke cheerfully as he reached the desk and sat across Sid. 

"Jatin, you are here?" Sid looked at the person before him.

"Thank god you didn't forget me after returning to India" Jatin chuckled. 

"Why are you here?" Sid asked calmly. 

"Can't you just show atleast a little bit of excitement seeing me here?" Jatin complained at Sid's calm reaction at his arrival. 

"Answer my question" Sid demanded with a stern face. 

"Well, it's for work. I've got a few cases to handle here. And I couldn't stop myself from coming to you as soon as I reached" Jatin answered. 

"Also..." Jatin stopped not knowing how to continue. 

"What else?" Sid stared at him calmly as he could roughly guess what the other might come up with. 

"I just want to know if everything is fine" Jatin put his concern indirectly. 

"You could have asked me directly. No need to beat around the bush" Sid quickly understood what Jatin was hesitant to talk about. "Everything is fine. You don't need to worry".

"No need to worry? Seriously, Sid? Can you imagine how big of an issue it is? Why don't you listen to me? If things go out of control then..." 

"Nothing like that is gonna happen" Sid cut him in middle. "Things are in control". 

"Until when?" Jatin stared at Sid while the later fell silent. 

"You have no idea of how dangerous it can be" Jatin was literally annoyed at Sid's adamancy.

"Where are you gonna stay?" Sid inquired, diverting the topic. 

Jatin sighed helplessly as he realised Sid would not listen to him like always. "Hospital management has arranged for it" he answered. 

"Come to home whenever you are free. Will introduce Roli" Sid said. 

"Yeah, of course. I'm eager to meet the person who made you fall so deeply in love" Jatin was excited while Sid smiled, remembering Roli.

"Well, I have to report at hospital now. Will get back to you later" Jatin got up as he checked time in his watch. 

"And take care about you know what" Jatin reminded seriously before leaving. 

Sid calmly stared at his laptop screen as his mind occupied with what Jatin had reminded him of. The secret which only he and Jatin had knew about. He was no longer able to focus on work and left the office. 

Roli was just reached home and began to prepare things which she had planned for Sid. When Sid reached home at evening, he was confused to see his room filled with candles and heart shaped balloons. While Roli was sitting on the floor and doing something, facing her back at door. 

"What are you doing?" Roli widened her eyes as she heard Sid's voice. 

"What are you doing here? Didn't you say you are busy and that you will return late today?" Roli got up and frowned at him. 

"What are all these?" Sid glanced at the decorated room, ignoring her question. 

When Roli was helping Trisha in planning for surprise, Trisha had asked her if she had confessed her feelings to Sid yet or not. Roli was taken aback at her question as she hadn't thought of it yet. She knew she was emotionally attached to Sid but, never given a thought of romantic angle to their relationship. Then Trisha suggested her to confess her love to Sid with a surprise. Though, Roli felt it filmy and cheesy, she decided to do it for Sid. 

"I was bored so just playing" Roli was annoyed as he spoiled her surprise by entering when she was not done with all the preparations. She didn't expect he would return home soon and interrupt her surprise. 

"Were you planning something for me?" Sid walked near her as he guessed what was happening. 

Without responding, Roli glared at him and tried to walk away. Sid promptly held her wrist as she walked past him and stopped her. 

Roli tried to get out of his hold but Sid pulled her towards him and hugged from back. 

"You don't have to do all these" Sid spoke softly, resting his chin on her right shoulder. 

"You spoiled my plan" Roli pouted, calming down in his embrace. Sid smiled and turned her to face him. 

"But, still it's beautiful" Sid said, cupping her face in his palms. 

"What beautiful? I haven't even decorated the room fully" Roli made a grim face showing her disappointment. 

"I'm not talking about the room" Sid said, looking in to her eyes. 

Roli stared at him confused while Sid's gaze travelled down to her lips. Even before she could realize what he meant, he captured her lips, making her senses numb to think about anything else than him. He wrapped his one hand around her waist while the other slided into her open hairs, pulling her more close to him. Roli slowly got used to his kiss as her arms got circled around his neck. He took it as her acceptance and deepen the kiss, forgetting all his worries.
