Yo Mr. DJ - Fashion of Reprises!

The latest "in" theme is the fashion of reprises. This week, the DJ on the floor brings you the latest in this genre!

One of the strongest foundation stones of the Bollywood industry is the actors and the actresses, who bring to life the various characters through their ability to act. In fact, people love watching their favorite stars play multiple roles in a single movie itself. Similarly, the music industry does not lag behind with a single song being presented in a variety of tones. Making remixes of a song, though prevalent even today, is a bit obsolete. The latest "in" theme is the fashion of reprises. This week, the DJ on the floor brings you the latest in this genre!

"Ilahi Reprise" - Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani
A reprise is the repetition of the theme of a musical composition. The original song from the movie has Mohit Chauhan at the vocals, whereas Arijit Singh lends his voice to the reprise version. An extra feature of the reprise is that despite the presence of more rock beats, it is sung in a softer tempo accompanied by a more soothing voice. For those who've loved the music by far, it is a must hear.

"Mera Mann Reprise" - Nautanki Saala!
The original song takes a leap with the help of the sounds of guitar and catchy accordion, along with a great musical ambiance. On the other hand, in the reprise, which is also sung by Falak, the way of singing is altered in an impressive manner. The effect of soft drum beats, acoustic guitar and an orchestral piano add multifolds to the beauty of the song.

"Saans Reprise" - Jab Tak Hai Jaan
This song has the vocals of the talented duo, Mohit Chauhan and Shreya Ghoshal, who make the confession of the love of the protagonists even more worthwhile. The reprise of the same is sung by Shreya Ghoshal alone. The song is played at a high point, when the protagonists meet after a long interval. It effortlessly describes the happiness and relief behind the sad tunes.

"Bichdann Reprise" - Son of Sardaar
This is a song whose actual composition is a soft ballad, in Rahat Fateh Ali Khan's voice. The music of the tabla and the other instruments creates an enchanting and mesmerizing effect. The reprise version has a faster pace, but since it isn't a sufi song, Khan gets an opportunity to experiment with the various portions. It varies greatly from the original, but the soft female voice keeps it unique and appealing.

"Phir Le Aaya Dil Reprise" - Barfi!
Rekha Bhardwaj makes sure to leave an impression on the heart through this song. It has an integration of piano and guitar, along with some Indian rhythm. The reprise of the song is by Arijit Singh, whose voice makes it more pleasant and less ghazal-like. It is a combination of different moods; like the jazz feel with a piano besides the Indian touch.

This was just a small selection by the DJ. BollyCurry invites you to share your favorite reprises until we meet next time with a new genre of songs that have become popular amongst the recent times.
