In Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, tensions rise as Abhira and Armaan's relationship reaches a breaking point amidst their divorce proceedings. The entry of Roop, a lawyer supporting Abhira, adds another layer of complexity. Unbeknownst to both Abhira and Armaan, Roop shares a deep connection with them—he has been caring for Shivani, Armaan's biological mother, who fell ill after losing her son, Aaru. Shivani's relentless search for Armaan and Madhav becomes a pivotal part of the narrative.

Meanwhile, Roop's growing bond with Abhira stirs jealousy in Armaan, making him increasingly uneasy. Initially, Abhira misjudged Roop, but after learning about his past, she developed a strong connection with him. On the other hand, Roop has started developing feelings for Abhira, further complicating the situation.

Since entering Abhira's life, Roop has been a pillar of support for her. As she finally regains her license, he joins in the celebration alongside the Goenkas, sharing in her success. However, amidst the joyous moment, Abhira receives an unexpected call from the court, asking her to choose a date for the final divorce hearing. The options are either the next day or a month later.

Just as she is processing the decision, Abhira is taken aback to learn that Armaan has already finalised the hearing for the next day. Though she remains composed, confusion clouds her mind as she struggles to understand Armaan's sudden urgency to end their marriage.

In the upcoming episode of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, both Armaan and Abhira prepare for the court hearing, and coincidentally both wear black, signalling their unhappiness with the impending divorce. Before heading to the court, Abhira visits the temple to seek Devi Maa's blessings. There, she unexpectedly encounters Roop, who urgently pleads with her to come to the hospital, as Shivani is refusing to take her medicine without Abhira's presence.

Roop, aware of the consequences if Shivani doesn't take her medicine, kneels and begs Abhira to accompany him. Moved by his plea, Abhira decides to go with him to the hospital. Meanwhile, Armaan watches from a distance, growing suspicious of their interaction and follows them.

At the hospital, Abhira insists that Shivani take her medicine, but she has other plans in mind. Shivani, who has bonded with Abhira since their first meeting, mistakenly assumes Abhira is Roop's wife and calls her "bahu." In a fragile mental state, Shivani brings a gajra and insists that Roop place it in Abhira's hair. As Shivani goes inside to fetch garlands, the situation becomes awkward, with both Roop and Abhira aware of Shivani's condition.

As Abhira faces away from Roop and closes her eyes, he attempts to place the gajra in her hair. Just then, Armaan, noticing them from outside the room, misinterprets the situation. In a fit of anger, he rushes in and snatches the gajra from Roop's hands. When Roop tries to explain the situation he pushes him back and proceeds to place it in Abhira's hair himself. Abhira, startled, opens her eyes to find Armaan in front of her.

Roop, feeling the tension, watches for Shivani, who can return anytime. Meanwhile, Armaan places the gajra in Abhira's hair. Roop turns to face Shivani and tries to distract her to avoid her noticing Armaan and Abhira.

Before Abhira can explain herself, Armaan storms off in anger. Meanwhile, unaware of the tension, Shivani returns and places a garland in Abhira's hand and another in Roop's, only to see Armaan leaving, which deeply affects her.

Shivani, sensing a familiarity with Armaan, becomes restless and starts wondering if she knows him or feels a connection. She begins crying, unable to make sense of it. Roop, sensing her confusion, reassures her, calling himself 'Aaru' and reminding her that she is his mother and this is the truth. The two share a heartfelt embrace as Roop comforts Shivani.
