As 2026 begins, several ongoing shows continue to keep audiences engaged, while a fresh lineup of new fiction and reality programmes is set to hit television screens.
From relationship-driven dramas to competitive cooking, romance, business ideas and high-octane stunts, the small screen has something planned for every kind of viewer. Here’s a detailed look at the upcoming fiction shows and reality programmes expected to make waves in 2026.
Pavitra Rishta

A new show titled Pavitra Rishta is set to air on Zee TV in early 2026. Yes, the show carries the same title as the popular 2009 series. The romantic drama stars Abrar Qazi and Priyanshi Yadav in the lead roles, with Pallav Pradhan and Roopa Divetia playing key characters. The show is produced by Aman Sachdeva and created and directed by Siddharttha Vankara. As per TOI reports, the project is expected to go on floors in January 2026 and is likely to premiere in February.
The makers have used the title Pavitra Rishta as it aligns with the storyline and carries forward an emotional legacy, with the team aiming to do justice to the name. However, the use of the title has also drawn attention, as Ektaa Kapoor, who produced the iconic 2009 series with the same name, recently appeared to take an indirect dig over the reuse of the title.
Mounragam

Mounragam is another upcoming daily soap that has caught attention even before its launch. Adapted from a successful South Indian concept, the Hindi version is expected to focus on a dumb (mute) girl who grows up in a family where, except for her mother, everyone treats her with resentment. Her life takes an emotional turn when she meets a man from a wealthy family, who gradually falls in love with her.
The show stars Bhavika Sharma, whose casting was recently confirmed after Colors TV dropped the first teaser, further building excitement. Shakti Arora is reportedly playing the male lead. Their on-screen pairing has already generated interest among viewers, as the duo was last seen together in Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin and was appreciated for their chemistry.
Mounragam is set to air on Colors TV, likely in a prime-time slot in 2026. With its emotionally driven storyline and strong performances, the show is expected to strike a chord with fans of intense family dramas.
Mr and Mrs Parshuram

Set against a family-centric backdrop, Mr and Mrs Parshuram is an upcoming Star Plus show that promises high-octane drama, featuring a married couple who double up as spy agents.
