Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai: Kaveri and Vidya begin middle-class life with Abhira, away from the Poddars

Tonight’s episode opens with a seven-year leap. We see Abhira now living with Kaveri and Vidya. After offering her prayers at the temple, Vidya brings prasad and hands it to Kaveri, who’s seen struggling with the scooter. This moment subtly introduces their new avatars, both dressed in simple kurtas, with no trace of the rich jewellery or grandeur they once flaunted, reflecting the shift in their circumstances.

Kaveri playfully scolds Vidya for addressing her as “Maasa” and insists on being called by lighter, younger-sounding names like “Kavs” or “Chutki” instead, joking that she still feels youthful. Their light-hearted exchange continues when Kaveri engages in a cute interaction with a child and ends up taking his cool sunglasses, which she confidently wears.

Soon after, a playful argument breaks out between Vidya and Kaveri, with Vidya teasing her about living in a fantasy world. Kaveri fires back, and the two debate whether Kaveri is “delulu” or not. Unable to settle the matter, they decide to get a final verdict from Abhira and quickly call her for her opinion.

Meanwhile, Abhira, ready for court, is visibly cautious and makes sure everything is in perfect order before stepping out, determined not to repeat past mistakes. As they prepare to leave, Abhira questions their decision to head to their saree business without taking saris. She silently reminds herself that she can’t afford any missteps now. The trio then set off, with Vidya navigating the way for Kaveri, who is riding the scooter.

During the ride, Kaveri accidentally grazes the vehicle, attracting the attention of patrolling police officers. A confrontation ensues, and the police insist on taking all three Kaveri, Vidya, and Abhira, to the station. Abhira urges Vidya to manage the situation. Vidya politely tries to pacify the officers by referring to Kaveri as an elderly woman and asking for leniency. Offended by the comment, Kaveri confronts Vidya for calling her old.

Eventually, they are let off, and Kaveri drops Abhira at the courthouse. As they reach, Kaveri becomes nostalgic and emotional at the sight of the court, commenting on the hardships they’ve faced. Abhira gently advises her not to get lost in the past. Vidya motivates Abhira to carry on with confidence, while Kaveri encourages Vidya to focus on their sales. Abhira bids them goodbye and wishes them luck for the day.

At the court, Abhira engages in a legal discussion with Kaveri on the phone. Meanwhile, she spots a jar of mayonnaise and picks it up. Back on the street, Vidya and Kaveri struggle to sell saris. During the process, Kaveri ends up offending a potential customer, prompting Vidya to seek help from Abhira. Without hesitation, Abhira pauses her work and rushes to assist them, carrying the mayonnaise along.

With Abhira’s timely intervention, the sale is successful. The three women cheer over their earnings and then head out to buy vegetables. However, a light argument breaks out between Abhira and Vidya over tomatoes and coriander, drawing Kaveri’s attention.

Later, as they prepare for dinner, excitement builds. Abhira and Kaveri tease Vidya for making the same dish repeatedly, expressing their wish for a change. Kaveri starts craving mayonnaise again. Suddenly, the power goes out. Vidya informs them that they’ve run out of candles, but Abhira quickly uses an innovative idea to light up their home.

In the dim light, Kaveri reflects on their difficult circumstances but appreciates their unity. She confesses she misses the Poddar family, prompting Abhira to reassure her that they’ll reclaim what they lost. She promises that their sacrifices won’t go in vain and that they will one day return to the place they once called home. Kaveri grows emotional at her words.
