Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai has taken a dramatic turn post the seven-year leap, with Abhira and Armaan leading separate lives. However, fate seems to be drawing them closer once again. In the current track, a twist of events brings Maira, who is unknowingly dear to both into Abhira’s life. After escaping from Armaan, Maira finds herself in an unfamiliar place but is soon comforted by Abhira, who takes her in and tries to trace her family. While Abhira cares for the little girl at home, Armaan and Geetanjali begin their search, unaware that their paths are about to collide once again at Abhira’s doorstep.
In the upcoming episode of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, a sweet moment unfolds between Abhira and Maira. When Maira refuses to eat khichdi, Abhira gently asks what she would prefer. Maira points at noodles, but before anything can be done, Kaveri picks up the bowl and Maira replies that she has never even tasted noodles because her father didn’t allow her to.
Kaveri questions why Maira’s father didn’t let her eat noodles, despite allowing other unhealthy food. As Kaveri keeps wondering why, Abhira goes silent, lost in her own thoughts, remembering how noodles were her favourite and how Armaan used to cook them for her. The memories bring back a wave of emotion.
Just then, Maira says she feels like trying noodles today. Abhira agrees, seats Maira on her lap, and lovingly feeds her. The two share a touching, mother-daughter-like moment. After dinner, Abhira tells her it's time to get ready for bed. Maira says she isn’t sleepy and asks if she can watch cartoons, but Kaveri reacts strictly. Abhira, thinking quickly, comes up with another idea. She tells Maira that there’s a fun game she can play, and Maira excitedly agrees while Abhira goes to set things up.
Later, as already shown, Abhira, Kaveri, and Vidya create a cosy little sleeping area for Maira using bedsheets, chairs, pillows, and a stick. Maira is thrilled with her special bed and happily gets in. As she settles in, Abhira begins telling her a bedtime story about a king and queen who receive a sweet baby girl from a fairy. Maira listens with interest, feeling a connection to the story.
While this is happening, Armaan and Geetanjali arrive in an auto outside Abhira’s house, hoping to take Maira back home. Inside, Maira rests her head on Abhira’s lap and dozes off while still listening to the story. Before falling asleep, she innocently asks what the queen in the story would do if the prince returned, which touches Abhira deeply and makes her emotional. After Maira falls asleep, Abhira gently shifts her onto the bed. Just then, someone knocks on the door, leaving Abhira wondering who it could be at this hour. While we were expecting Armaan and Abhira’s face off, the two do not come face-to-face yet, and Abhira still doesn’t know Maira is Pookie.
The next morning, the house starts to come alive. While Kaveri and Vidya are in the kitchen, Maira writes a note for Krishna and rings the temple bell as she offers her prayer. Abhira wakes up shortly after and prepares to greets her. Meanwhile, Kaveri tastes salt in the tea instead of sugar, and blames Vidya, leading to their usual fun banter. Abhira intervenes and calms them down.
Later, Abhira asks Maira for her father’s number again since Vidya's phone, which had it, isn’t working. But Maira acts like she doesn't remember. Abhira reminds her that she recalled it the previous day. When she remains silent, Abhira asks for her parents' full names instead. Kaveri, seeing her hesitation, accuses Maira of lying and says she is pretending not to remember anything. As the argument builds, Maira tightly holds onto Abhira's sleeves in fear, the same way Abhira once held Armaan’s shirt, leaving Abhira stunned.
Meanwhile, as Vidya is cleaning, she finds the letter Maira had written. Maira quickly tells her that it’s a private message for Krishna and shouldn't be read. At that point, Kaveri sees a message on the phone which Maira forgot to delete. The message is an apology meant for Armaan. This prompts Abhira to read the letter. She realises that Maira ran away from her home to take part in the competition finale. She becomes upset and questions how Maira could do this to her parents.
Abhira then tells her how a parent’s life is incomplete without their child and shares how losing her own daughter once made her lose the will to live. Maira, getting emotional, finally opens up. She says that her father wanted to take her back to Udaipur, but she has put in a lot of hard work and just wants to win the competition to make him proud. She believes her father doesn't understand how important it is for her.
Abhira, calming down, tries to make Maira see that maybe her father is just trying to protect her from something. She again asks for Maira’s parents’ names, but Maira turns the question around and asks Abhira what she would do if it were Pookie in her place, wanting to dance, would she help her or stop her too? Abhira becomes quiet and tries to walk away, but Maira stops her, asking her to support her just like she would support Pookie, emphasising that she is just like her Pookie. Maira promises she’ll go back to her parents after the competition is over.
After thinking deeply, Abhira finally agrees to help. The two share a warm hug. Then Maira mentions that her dance costume and ghungroos are still with her father. Abhira says the dress can be managed, and they both turn to Vidya with a cute request to stitch a new one. Vidya agrees happily. When Kaveri asks what about the ghungroos, Abhira goes silent for a moment. She opens a cupboard and pulls out one of Pookie’s gift boxes. Inside are her ghungroos. She gives them to Maira, making for a very emotional moment.
Maira asks what she will tell Pookie about giving her ghungroos to someone else. Abhira, holding back tears, says that she’ll simply tell her that they’ve gone to the world’s cutest dancer.
