The actress, who started her career as a theatre writer, believes that being a writer helps her with her acting skills.

I know the many problems of our society and insist that all the dramas I work in must have an objective and a message to convey to the general public. Drama or showbiz is not only about entertainment but is also a necessity of our society. Entertainment is still limited to television for a large population in our part of the world. Television can be very helpful to build awareness and consciousness for those people. Whether as a writer or as an actor, good observation is key. I use observation in both writing and acting, due to which, understanding and performing a character becomes easier."

Inspired by the works of Anwar Maqsood and Munnoo Bhai, Yasra admits that her own writing style is also classical and has her sights set on making a film in the near future.

As she deeply loves and respects her family, she tolerates all the harassment by Malika but later, with her patience and perseverance gains back her husband's love.
