Actress Yami Gautam and director Aditya Dhar took all of us by a sweet surprise when they announced their wedding on social media. The actress in her recent interaction called her wedding an impromptu affair. In a joint statement, the couple announced that they had tied the knot in her home town of Bilaspur, in Himachal Pradesh.

Speaking to Film companion, Yami said that she and Aditya did not plan to get married, and it happened most beautifully. Summarizing her love story the Bala actress shared that their families were even happier when the couple decided to get married.

"We didn't plan it, and it happened in the most beautiful way. This is actually what I wanted, this is who we are. And I'm glad it resonated with so many people... We started interacting during the promotions of Uri. And that is when we started wooing each other, and our friendship started. It's been over two years, and we were like 'let's get married', and our families were equally happy, probably even more happy," she said.

Yami shared that it was her grandmother’s (nani) demand that they decided to get married, and the plan initially was to just get engaged.

She further added, "We were just supposed to get engaged, and then were going to let time take its due course, but my 'nani' was like 'listen, this engagement and all is not a part of our culture, so how about getting married?' And then Aditya asked me, 'Are you ready? Shall we?' I don't know what it means, honestly. I'm still not able to absorb the feeling of being married. I feel the same, maybe happier."

On the work front, Yami will next be seen in the horror-comedy film 'Bhoot Police'. The Pavan Kirpalani directorial also features Saif Ali Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez and Arjun Kapoor. She will be seen alongside Abhishek Bachchan and Nimrat Kaur in the forthcoming film 'Dasvi'.

She is also set to headline 'Lost', the upcoming investigative drama to be directed by filmmaker Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury.
