Workshop grooming budding filmmakers in Mumbai

Mumbai, April 30 (IANS) With the entertainment industry catching the fancy of the young generation, multiplex chain company Fame India Ltd. has launched a workshop here for children to acquaint them with the process of filmmaking.

Mumbai, April 30 (IANS) With the entertainment industry catching the fancy of the young generation, multiplex chain company Fame India Ltd. has launched a workshop here for children to acquaint them with the process of filmmaking.

Eighty children aged between seven to 15 are participating in the week-long workshop called Fame Reel Kids, which started April 23. The children will collaborate in making two 15-minute movies under the guidance of film industry professionals.

The workshop will also be conducted in Bangalore and Kolkata.

Abhishek Raina, marketing head of Fame India Ltd., told IANS that the objective was to engage the children creatively during the holiday season.

A grand premiere of the four movies that will emerge from the workshops in Mumbai, Bangalore and Kolkata will be held in Mumbai in June and the movies will be evaluated for awards.

'All workshop participants will be given a certificate and movie vouchers for Fame cinema chains. Fame trophies will be presented to the award winning movies,' said Shravan Shroff, CEO of Fame India Ltd.

He also disclosed that some television channels have evinced interest in the workshop and have come forward to promote the movies that the children are making.
