When The Phone Rings Episode 9: Real Baek Sa eon comes to the fore as disturbing truths of the family unravel

When The Phone Rings fans now know who is the real villain of the series. It is none other than the senior chairman of the Baek family. His one decision changed the lives of many people. In the episode, we saw that Hong Hee-Joo meets Hong In-A and they have an intense fight. She tells him that he is not the real Baek Sa eon but someone who just fits his place. Hong Hee-Joo also tells Hong In-A that she too lied to him about many things. In-A also tells Hee-Joo that she liked having her as a younger sister. It is also revealed that the real Baek Sa eon is missing since 15 years.

In the meantime, Hee-Joo is unable to contact Baek Sa eon. She gets worried but later decides against calling the cops. A fiery Hee-Joo goes to meet her in-laws and demands to know the truth. It is revealed that Baek Sa eon had heterochromia procedure done on it. She also wants to find out who is the real Baek Sa eon, and scion of the family.

Later, it is revealed that Hee-Joo’s childhood friend Park Sang Woo was the one who rescued Baek Sa eon (Yoo Yeon-seok) and an old man. The new entry is Jeong Jin-seok. He is the owner of a fish shop and has some critical information on dark secrets of the Baek family.

It seems the real Baek Sa-eon was born with a psychotic personality. His grandfather saw him as a liability on the family name and wanted to replace him. He drowned him in a river. Mr Jeong Jin-seok was given the job to dispose the body but he ended up raising him. He is the real kidnapper who now wants to get close to the Baek Sa eon.

Hong In-A makes suspicious statements about the Baek family at a press event. This creates more confusion. Hong Hee-Joo and Baek Sa eon have a confrontation at the event about their deep secrets and how life turned out for them.

The wife of senior Baek (mother of real Sa eon) traces him after she gets a box of bloody fish. Sang Woo finds out that the real Sa eon killed many children. This was why his grandfather wanted him dead.

It seems real Sa eon had lost his memory post drowning, but survived due to Mr Jeong.
