When television had nothing to offer, I turned towards theatre: Sadiya Siddiqui

Sadiya Siddiqui in an informal chat with Tellybuzz speaks about her hand over television, movies and theatre...

Sadiya Siddiqui at 51st Annual Function of Mithibai College in Vile Parle, MumbaiPretty actress Sadiya Siddiqui (Satrangi Sasural, Zee TV), always played a supporting actress or a protagonist, has ruled the hearts of the audience over the years. While most of the television actors step into the career with theatres, television shows and movies; the case with Sadiya is simply opposite.

She is one of those few actors who started her early career with a film, later television shows and then went on to do theatre.

In talks with TellyBuzz, Sadiya said, "I started off with the movie Kabhi Ha Kabhi Na while I was in school. I bagged Banegi Apni Baat show too during my schooling days. Eventually, I started with television shows and took up roles that came my way. Later, when I felt there is nothing new is happening on television, I turned towards theatre. I have done several English and Hindi theatres. I have graduated from Mithibai College and like known to all, Mithibai's drama group is extremely famous. Shefali Shah just graduated a year before me and she had already a known name. This even more inspired and motivated me. I have tried my hands on several genres be it serious or comedy. I am experimental and I have done it all. In fact my ongoing play - 2 to Tango and 3 to Jive is about a journey of a wanna be actor from Delhi. I am glad I have experienced every possible medium in acting."

TellyBuzz wishes Sadiya good luck for all her future endeavours!
