The Royals

This is a love story between a prince and a commoner. Ishaan Khatter plays Aviraaj Singh, the polo-playing, pleasure-seeking, party prince, heir to the royal throne of Morpur, meets high-functioning ace CEO Sophia Kanmani Shekhar (Bhumi Pednekar). The two set out to achieve financial goals together and clash with opposite ideologies. The Royals is a breezy romcom served up with a side of dreamy palace life, under the blazing royal sun.

In the Bengal of the early 2000s, where gangsters and politicians reign supreme, a decorated cop's death paves the way for a fearless IPS Arjun Maitra — an unrelenting force ready to take on the chaos and restore justice. The series has some of the best actors of West Bengal namely, Jeet, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Saswata Chatterjee, Parambrata Chatterjee, Ritwik Bhowmik, Aadil Khan, Chitrangada Singh, Pooja Chopra, Aakanksha Singh, Mimoh Chakroborty and Shraddha Das. Debatma Mandal and Tushar Kanti Ray are the directors.

Creator Neeraj Pandey shared, "The audience will witness a culturally rich region, bustling streets of Kolkata, new faces, new conflicts, and a story that is just as intense but uniquely its own. In line with the trademark Khakee flavour, in the upcoming chapter, the stakes are higher, the truths are darker, and the challenges are grittier.”

Glory is a sports crime thriller that blends pursuit of the Olympic Gold medal with blood and vengeance. It is about a boxing coach Raghubir Singh who has to reunite with his sons, Dev and Ravi. The parties have bad blood in between them. Producers Mohit Shah and Karan Anshuman of Atomic Films share, “Glory is a story close to our hearts. At its core, it’s a gripping murder mystery intricately woven against the backdrop of the high-stakes world of sports, bringing together two electrifying genres.”

The creators say it is bold story full of twists and turns. The series is high on action.

Akka starring Keerthy Suresh and Radhika Apte

Netflix also unveiled the first look of YRF’s Akka:- Ruling With an Iron Fist. It is a series about gangster queens.

Set in the 1980s matriarchal society of a fictional city of Pernuru, South India, women reign supreme and power has a new name — Akka! The story is about matriarchal rule that is challenged by an outsider who threatens the core of the sisterhood. Akshaye Widhani, CEO of Yash Raj Films, shares , “Netflix and YRF share a common vision of bringing exceptional stories from India to the world. Our collaboration has resulted in incredible global success stories that have resonated with audiences not only in India but all over the world and we are extremely bullish about what's next.”

Projects from YRF that have come on Netflix are The Romantics, The Railway Men, Maharaj and Vijay 69. They are also bringing the Mandala Murders to Netflix. He further said, “Mandala Murders and Akka reflect our relentless commitment and pursuit of exploring path-breaking stories that are deeply rooted in India. Netflix, with its enormous global footprint, is the perfect partner for us to showcase India, its cultures, its stories, and our brilliant talents to the world. In Kohrra 2, we will see a woman separated from her husband brutally murdered in her brother’s home. Barun Sobti returns as Garundi, and Mona Singh plays his new boss, the no-nonsense Dhanwant Kaur. But the two investigators soon realise that what’s as complicated as the case are the entanglements in their own personal lives.
