Well known TV journalist and anchor Rohit Sardana passes away

In yet another shocking incident that has left the news media industry shattered, well-know TV journalist and anchor Rohit Sardana, who was currently working with Aaj Tak has passed away due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

As per reports, he had recently tested positive for the novel coronavirus and this morning (April 30, 2021, Friday) he left for heavenly abode after suffering a major heart attack.

On April 24, 2021, Rohit had taken the RT-PCR test but the results of the test had come out to be negative following which he did a CT-Scan and in the scan it was confirmed that the virus had affected his lungs. He was being treated for the same at the hospital.

Despite being sick and battling the virus himself, Rohit was very active on his social media and through the medium of his twitter account he was continuously helping people affected by COVID- 19 and requesting the ones recovered from the virus to donate their plasma to help others.

The last few posts on his Twitter account shows that Sardana was trying to help people even while suffering poor health himself. He was sharing SOS calls of people who were in need of amenities amidst the second wave of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Till last night he was tweeting and passing on the messages for the people in need but this morning he left for heavenly abode after suffering a heart attack.

Announcing the news with everyone, Sudhir Chaudhary of Zee News took to his social media account and said that he never thought the virus would take away someone so close to him. He said he was not prepared for this.

In 2017, Rohit left Zee News to join Aaj Tak. Then in 2018 he was awarded the Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Puraskar by the Government of India.

His death has come as a great shock to his friends and colleagues from the media and a lot of his followers on social media.
