We owe to Ozone......

If we remember, during our school years we had learned that most life on earth is sustained thanks to the 'Ozone Layer'. This invisible protective blanket is also the reason why the harsh radiation of the Sun doesn't affect us. The list just goes on and on…

That, we have a day to remind people of their responsibility to safeguard the fragile sheet of Ozone around the earth is in itself a sad thing. However, things have come to this stage and we need to open our eyes towards our accountability to earth.

Some of our favorite television stars speak on what they do to keep Gaya happy!

Additi Gupta:

What do you do on your part to help save the ozone layer?
Well, to be very honest with my busy schedule, I can't take time out to do things especially for the ozone layer. But given a chance, I drive less.

What other things do you do to behave in an environmentally responsible way?
I never hurt plants or trees. I don't encourage people when they speak about felling trees.

Karan Kundra:

What do you do on your part to help save the ozone layer?
I was always inclined towards environmental friendliness. When I was a part of a manufacturing unit, I made sure that the unit emits as less of polluted air as possible. I saw to it that we used the right kind of fuel, etc. In my daily life I try to do carpooling whenever I can.

What other things do you do to behave in an environmentally responsible way?
I never use plastic.

What do you do on your part to help save the ozone layer?
I ride bicycle to nearby places.

What other things do you do to behave in an environmentally responsible way?
I plant in my garden.

Darshan Pandya:

What do you do on your part to help save the ozone layer?
I turn my bike off at the signal.

What other things do you do to behave in an environmentally responsible way?
Well, I had this very bad habit of eating snacks and throwing wrappers around. Thanks to my wife I've finally gotten rid of it now. I don't litter anymore. (Laughs)

Kavita Kaushik:

What do you do on your part to help save the ozone layer?
I don't use the air-conditioner when there's really no need for it. Even in my car, if the weather is good I roll my windows down and don't use the AC.

What other things do you do to behave in an environmentally responsible way?
I make sure that all the lights and fans are switched off. Be it in my home or any other place, unnecessarily I don't leave any electric items on, even the television.

Nikhhil Chadha:

What do you do on your part to help save the ozone layer?
Umm… I don't smoke. (laughs)

What other things do you do to behave in an environmentally responsible way?
I do proper servicing to my bike as it helps reduce air as well as noise pollution.
