Vivek Agnihotri's reveals the reason to postpone 'The Vaccine War' release to Dussehra 2023

Following the remarkable success of his film 'The Kashmir Files', renowned director Vivek Agnihotri set his sights on yet another ambitious project, 'The Vaccine War'. With extensive shooting already underway, Agnihotri had initially announced the film's release date to coincide with Independence Day 2023.

However, according to recent reports surrounding the project indicates a slight change in plans, as 'The Vaccine War' is now slated for release during the festive occasion of Dussehra 2023. As the film nears completion, Agnihotri finds himself putting the final touches on the project during a short shoot in the United States. Taking inspiration from their previous collaboration on 'The Kashmir Files', the filmmaker and his wife, Pallavi Joshi, intend to organize pre-release screenings of 'The Vaccine War' in the USA, followed by its theatrical release in India. This strategic approach aims to generate buzz and anticipation among international audiences before the film reaches Indian shores.

When discussing the project, Vivek Agnihotri revealed his motivation, stating that when 'The Kashmir Files' faced postponement during the Covid-19 lockdown, he delved into extensive research. During this period, they had the opportunity to collaborate with scientists from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the National Institute of Virology (NIV), who played a pivotal role in developing our own vaccine.

The filmmaker also further emphasized that 'The Vaccine War' would be India's first purely scientific film, unraveling the untold story of a bio-warfare battle that caught the nation by surprise.

'The Vaccine War' will serve as a cinematic portrayal of India's relentless pursuit in developing the COVID-19 vaccine amidst the global pandemic. It aims to shed light on the profound impact this journey had, not just within the country but also on a global scale.
