Renowned filmmaker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri has expressed his strong views on the changes made to Akshay Kumar's character in the upcoming film OMG 2. In a candid interview with India.com, Agnihotri, who is also a member of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), criticized the alterations and questioned the need for censorship in the film industry.

Despite his affiliation with CBFC, Agnihotri emphasized his belief that the board should not exist and should not be influenced by social or religious pressures. He highlighted the vulnerability of the CBFC to such pressures, particularly in light of recent controversies. Agnihotri even advocated for the abolishment of CBFC, promoting the idea of free speech and artistic expression without unnecessary restrictions.

Amid weeks of anticipation about the film's certification, OMG 2 ultimately received an A certificate after undergoing 27 cuts. While the official stance remains undisclosed, reports indicated that the filmmakers aimed for a UA certificate due to the film's focus on sex education and its intention to educate teenagers. However, the film had to settle for an A certificate to ensure its theatrical release.

Directed by Amit Rai, OMG 2 features a talented cast including Pankaj Tripathi, Yami Gautam, and Akshay Kumar. As the film gears up for its release on August 11, audiences eagerly anticipate how the thought-provoking narrative will unfold on the silver screen.
