Ever
since Smriti made her exit from Balaji’s Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu
Thi, all eyes have turned towards Smriti’s own production show – Virrudh. With Sony planning to axe most of its current shows, speculations were on that Virrudh was also in the ‘Hit List’.
Rumors made waves about Virrudh’s end, and the time slot being taken
over by Ekta for her new Balaji soap. Is this coincidence really on the
cards?
Let
us know more about the future of Virrudh from the serial’s main lead
and producer Smriti Irani, and actors,
Achint Kaur and
Vikram Gokhale.
Vikram Gokhale, who plays the pivotal character of Dhirendra Raisinghania speaks to Telly Buzz, “As
an actor, it doesn’t affect me when people spread false rumors that the
show is going to end. Because, let me tell you that its not! It is up
to the channel to decide what’s to be done with the show. Virrudh is a
popular show, and it is doing really well. See, there is something
called a ‘good show’ and something called a ‘show that runs’. Virrudh
is a show that is a good show, and as far as what people say, well, as
the saying goes whenever people start criticizing you for doing well,
you need to understand that you’re doing a good job! If the show has to
end, why will it end for false rumors, its only when the directors,
actors or the creative heads do a bad job, and when we don’t get good
feedbacks from the viewers, is when the channel can thinking about
stopping the show. The channel is wise, they know what’s right.”
Talking about her close-to-heart show Virrudh, Smriti opined, “I
don’t know who spreads these rumors, but no, Virruddh is not going to
end anytime soon. Whoever is my so called well wisher who wants to
spread such false rumors, can just go ahead and do so, it’s not going
to affect the cast and crew.”
The gorgeous
Achint Kaur left no stone unturned as she says, “It’s
a corporate game, a game, that is being played at a very different
level, where its really beyond ratings, and TRPs, etc. The operation
happens at a very different level, where creativity, and actor
satisfaction, whether the story is good matters the most. As an actor,
I wouldn’t do something if I don’t like it. And yes, Virrudh is doing
well. It has been the talk of the town. Its like India is being called
a third world country, and our people are fine with it being called so,
and the other countries don’t want India to do well, so that’s why they
keep picking on India, the same goes for Virrudh.”
Well,
rumors and speculations are part and parcel of Tellyworld. If Virrudh
is being talked about everywhere, it surely does mean that it’s getting
popular in the eyes of the public. What’s more, we have got the Final
verdict that Virrudh and Smriti Irani are going to stay for long….
So get ready to check out the new twists and turns in Virrudh, which is
all set to make a difference..

It has its standard and should not be the typical drama serials where we see same type of characters. If it can't invent new topics, should finish instead of dragging.
nimeelita @nimeelita 16 years ago This is one of the most engrossing serials I have so far watched. Smriti, keep it up. Thanks to Sony for giving us serials like Jassi. LRL and Virruddh.

What a relief!! I wouldn't have forgiven Sony if they had axed this great show to make way for a Kekta krapp production. Thank you for this news!

omg virrudh is such an awesome show, it can't end! it doesn't have the over-the-top shaadi drama and other bakwaas shown on most indian dramas these days, and people need to start appreciating that! :P

Virrudh is a really good show. It needs more publicity. With Indian Idol on air it is very inlikely that the channel will pay much attention to this show. Nevertheless I have read in many articles that this show including many others are going to end.
