Vineet Kumar Singh talks about his character in 'Rangbaaz - Darr Ki Rajneeti'

Vineet Kumar Singh adds another feather to his cap as he plays the character of Haroon Shah Ali Baig (also known as Saheb) in Rangbaaz - Darr Ki Rajneeti

Vineet has really worked hard to play the character on screen he even gained weight to look age in the series. Talking about the character and series the actor told, "Whatever character I play I try to understand its mind. I refer to the script, I listen to my writers, director, show runner and try to understand how they perceive the character. I research about the character’s background and his world and when all this research is collected then I start searching for how I see this character. Honestly, the character starts revealing himself and things start falling in place. Day by day things get more clearer. The character Haroon Shah Ali Baig has many shades so to get to know about this character, this whole process was very important. And as we were covering his journey from an 18 year old to 45 year old I divided this journey into 3 parts 20s, 30s and 40s. To play the character in his late 30s I had put on around 10 kgs of weight. 

Adding more to it, "Makers give me dark and intense roles because they think I'll be able to do it well. And I feel as if I have done such roles majorly so it becomes a reference point. It's not that I love doing only dark & intense roles. I want to play more different types of characters which I will in the future."

Rangbaaz – Darr Ki Rajneeti’ is centred around Vineet Kumar Singh’s character, Haroon Shah Ali Baig (also known as Saheb) who is a gangster-turned-politician, Robin Hood style. This season charts his rise from a small town in Bihar to becoming one of its most powerful strongmen. As seen in the trailer, Saheb is released from jail after 11 years where he was imprisoned for over 32 criminal case charges including murder, kidnapping, and extortion. Loved by many, hated by some, and feared by all, Haroon Shah Ali Baig is now back to claim his territory with a single motive to contest and win the elections. And he has made it clear that he is willing to go to any length to get what he wants even if that means resorting to crude violence and murders.

'Rangbaaz - Darr Ki Rajneeti premieres on ZEE5 from 29th July, 2022.
