Coming from the television background, Vikrant Massey has successfully carved his place in the list of impeccable actors. From the television show Balika Vadhu to his last 2020 release Ginny Weds Sunny, Vikrant’s journey is what dreams are made of - hard work, passion and determination.
However it hasn’t been a bed of roses for the actor as he reveals that he has often been replaced from films at the last moment. In a recent interview, Vikrant opens up how he was dropped out of two films after he had already begun the prep. He told o RJ Siddharth Kannan:
“Workshop chal rahi hai, aap reading kar rahe ho, producer aapko bula ke khila raha hai, pila raha hai, poora dhyan rakh raha hai, aap do hafte mein shoot pe jaa rahe ho (I was doing a workshop, readings, the producer was pampering me and I was supposed to begin shooting in two weeks).”
He reveals that he went on a short outdoor shoot to finish some patchwork for another project, and came back to find out that he was no longer a part of the film.
“It’s happened a couple of times but I think that’s a part of the job.”
In fact, Vikrant shares that he was not even informed about being ousted from the film and came to know about it only from the media.
“Aur aisa bhi nahi hai ki communication hai (It is not like it was communicated to me that I was being replaced). You get to know via-via. Mereko media ke through pata chala (I found out through the media). Suddenly, one day, I picked up the newspaper and I was like, ‘Arre, yeh toh main kar raha tha do din pehle (Two days ago I was doing this film)!’”
Surpassing all the obstacles with his versatility and determination, Vikrant Massey is onto his next project, Haseen Dillruba alongside Taapsee Pannu and Harshvardhan Rane. The murder mystery film will release on Netflix on Friday.
A day ago, Vikrant also announced the direct to digital release of his upcoming social comedy film ‘14 Phere’ also starring Kriti Kharbanda. The film will premiere in July on Zee5.
