Vikrant Massey & Shanaya Kapoor's emotional disconnect in 'Alvida' sets up a heartbreak saga in 'AKG'

With just days left for its theatrical release, the team behind Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan has dropped a new track titled Alvida that focuses on heartbreaks that unfold quietly. The song stars Vikrant Massey and Shanaya Kapoor, and brings composer-singer Vishal Mishra back into the emotional music space.

The Song That Speaks Through Silence

Penned, composed, and sung by Vishal Mishra, Alvida reflects on the kind of farewells where words fall short. The track follows a couple who struggle with emotions that remain unspoken, glances that hide deeper feelings, and partings that don’t come with closure. The music uses layered arrangements to mirror the confusion and inner turbulence that often come with unresolved feelings.

In the video, Vikrant and Shanaya take viewers through a story of drifting apart, captured in moments of distance and restraint rather than outbursts or loud confrontations. It follows the core of the film’s theme: what’s left unsaid often holds the most weight.

Film Brings Together Unlikely Pair

The film’s trailer released earlier this month gave a glimpse into a story driven by chance meetings, growing bonds, and emotional twists. Vikrant Massey steps into a conventional romantic role, marking a shift from his previous work. Shanaya Kapoor makes her debut and shares the screen with Vikrant, with the two forming a pairing not seen before.

Written and created by Mansi Bagla and directed by Santosh Singh, the film aims to explore old-school storytelling with a music-heavy narrative. The cast also includes Zain Khan Durrani in a pivotal role. Presented by Zee Studios and Mini Films, and produced by Mansi Bagla, Varun Bagla, and Open Window Films, Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan releases in cinemas on 11 July 2025.
