Vicky Kaushal to play Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj for Laxman Utekar's next: Report

Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan will soon be starring in an untitled romantic comedy by Laxman Utekar. While we have not heard anything further about it, there are numerous rumours that the actor-director team is working on another historical drama as well.

According to a report from Etimes, Laxman Utekar, who has previously directed comedies like "Luka Chuppi" and "Mimi," has long had plans to make a movie about Sambhaji Raje. He is allegedly finally ready to complete an enormous passion project, and he is going all out to make it as impressive as he can.

The director has been working on this project for the past six months and has assembled a group of elite technical and creative experts. Laxman and his group are currently knee-deep in pre-production after finishing the screenplay. According to the Peeping Moon report, Dinesh Vijan is lending his full backing and has approved a sizable budget to make this movie a genuine visual extravaganza.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Vicky will next be seen in Meghna Gulzar's 'Sam Bahadur' co-starring Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Shaikh.
