Veteran actor Shriram Lagoo Passed Away

Lagoo was one of the finest actors from back then and acted in over 100 Hindi & Marathi films and numerable stage plays too.

Veteran actor and ENT surgeon, Dr. Shriram Lagoo has passed away at the age of 92.

Lagoo was one of the finest actors from back then and acted in over 250 Hindi & Marathi films and numerable stage plays too. 

Lagoo, who was a trained ENT surgeon, played important role in the growth of theatre movement in Maharashtra in post-Independence era alongwith Vijay Tendulkar, Vijaya Mehta and Arvind Deshpande.

Lagoo was affectionately called 'Doctor' and was one of the important voices who was known for his progressive rationalist views and known to express his views without being hesitant.

Apart from his career in films, Lagoo was known to express his support for causes he felt were important to be addressed. One of those instances included adopting a fast in order to support for the anti-corruption movement that was led by Anna Hazare back in 1999.

Lagoo also had an autobiography which was titled Lamaan that means 'carrier of goods.'
