Vaishali Made, winner of SaReGaMaPa Challenge 2009..

Zee TV proudly announces the winner of the largest musical reality show, Hero Honda Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2009 that took place at the historic monument, The Gateway of India, Mumbai. In an intense, nerve-wracking finish Vaishali Made was voted the winner by millions of viewers from across the nation against two capable competents Somen Nandi and Yashita Yashpal Sharma.
 
Commenting on the finale, Mr. Punit Goenka, CEO, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd., said, "Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, the longest running music talent show on Indian television has redefined reality programming by capitulating it to a new altitude. Holding the finale at the Gateway was our way of telling the world that the spirit of India is unshakable. Music has traversed many boundaries and this time around we want to show everyone that we stand tall in face of all adversities. The Government of Maharashtra has solicited its full encouragement by making the finale a part of 'Saptarang' their cultural festival."
 
Adding further Mr. Goenka said, "Our esteemed mentors, Shankar Mahadevan, Himmesh Reshammiya, Pritam and Aadesh have nurtured the participants to an extent that will hold them in good stead all their lives. With Vaishali Made's victory, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2009 has lived up to its reputation of offering talented singers to the music fraternity."
 
The mega finale went live from the Gateway of India, Mumbai on January 24th 2008, where the three finalists, Somen Nandi, Yashita Yashpal Sharma and Vaishali Made, performed with their respective mentors Aadesh Srivastava, Pritam and Himmesh Reshammiya before an audience of over 6000. The event began with participants singing patriotic songs, paying tribute to the indomitable spirit of India. The surprise element was Akshay Kumar and Deepika Padukone's presence at the finale and the Lux Dance India Dance Mahaguru, Mithun Da. The evening was attended by a lot of dignitaries from the political clan, bollywood and television world. The crowd went gung ho and flowed in emotions when the winner sang our national anthem, "Jana Gana Mana."
 
Zee TV is proud that Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2009 discoveries have become brands by themselves. Vaishali Made, the winner of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2009 will win a music contract worth Rs. 50 lakhs with Zee TV, a Hyundai I 10 car and an LCD from Sony Bravia. All the top 14 participants will be given a Hero Honda Bike each, 2 tickets to Switzerland as a special gift from Max Newyork life insurance. Also Vaishali will win a diamond studded jewellery set from Joy Aluka jewelers.

Vaishali raced away as the winner after getting 1896260 votes, while Yashita bagged 1733595 votes. Somen was the second runner-up with 1680495 votes.
