Usha Nadkarni in Pavitra Rishtha..

Usha Nadkarni, popularly known as Shanta Bai of Kuch Is Tara makes her comeback to television with Balaji Telefilms' Pavitra Rishtha on Zee TV.

According to our source, "She was earlier approached to play the mother of the female lead Archana, but things did not work out then. She has now been roped in to play mother to the male lead, Manav aka Sushant Singh Rajput".

Usha Nadkarni is a veteran from the Marathi Theater and films, and has portrayed powerful characters in films like Vaastav, Yeh Tera Ghar Yeh Mera Ghar, One Two Three etc.

We called up the talented actress who said, "I have not started shoot yet. I had earlier given a look test for the girl's mother's role, but I got a call today to play the boy's mother. I will start shoot very soon after signing the contract".

On her role she says, "I don't know much about my character, but I am basically the step mother of Manav. I am a dominating wife and mother and the entire family has to adhere to my decisions".

As reported earlier, Ajay Wadhavkar who was seen in the serial Nukkad will play Manav's father, and the family will be entering this week..
