Upasana Singh rescued by cops while a Taxi driver tried to MOLEST her!

In a completely shocking turn of events, actress Upasana Singh encountered a horrifying experience where a taxi driver with shady motives, drove her to a deserted area late night. Fortunately, the actress managed to save herself from trouble just in time.

Here's how everything unfolded.

Upasana, who was in Zirakpur, Chandigarh on Sunday for a shoot, took her regular taxi back to her hotel from work. However, the taxi driver soon drove the actress to a deserted stretch of road at 10 pm and an alert Upasana noticed the same.

Upasana immediately managed to force the driver named Vivek to stop the cab and stepped out of the car. Luckily for the actress, a man (local) passing by, saw the actress and asked her if everything was fine and with the help of this man, Upasana called the police.

The location was identified as Ring Road, Zirakpur. The PCR (Police Control Room) Van immediately reached the spot and arrested the accused. Upasana was escorted safely back to her hotel by the police in a separate vehicle.

The taxi driver was interrogated by the police on Sunday night. He initially denied the allegations but confessed to the crime on Monday morning and tended a written apology to the actress.

We spoke to a shaken Upasana who said, "Our country signifies dignity and respect. However, day by day it is becoming unsafe for women. When a dedicated taxi driver who drops me to my hotel daily, post shoot since a week tried to molest me, it really questioned the sensibilities and safety of women in this country. I was terrified by the entire incident but at the same time I was confident that I will have my people to rescue me before anything happens since I have relatives in Chandigarh."

Questioning the safety of women she said, "But does that mean I need people to protect myself? Can't an alone woman feel free and safe? It has become so risky to travel and believe in someone because there is no guarantee of people and one cannot go on face value. The administration of the country needs to be powerful enough and take stern actions against such corrupt people so that they think twice even before raising an eyebrow."
