UNESCO Declares Jaipur a World Heritage Site; Here Are Five Shows Set in This 'Gulabi Shehar'

Jaipur, the capital city of Rajasthan forms one of India's earliest planned cities. Founded in 1727 by the Rajput ruler Jai Singh II of Amer, the city is known for its architectural beauty and the color schemed structures.The larger than life palaces and enthralling scenic beauty is the essence of Jaipur, also known as ‘Pink City’. Recently, the city was declared a World Heritage Site in the 43rd session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee (WHC),

A World Heritage Site is a location having an ‘Outstanding Universal Value’ based on natural and cultural significance. Jaipur made its entry in the World Heritage Sites list and gave the entire nation, a reason to celebrate. The city’s inclusion marked the 38th Indian entry in the list comprising of 1121 such locations across the world.

The vibrant city has been an ideal destination for travel, weddings and even shoots. Many Indian movies and Television shows have depicted the beauty of the city through their lens.

1. Nisha Aur Uske Cousins

Nisha Aur Uske Cousins was a Star Plus show, centred around a joint family, settled in Jaipur. The show introduced a fresh concept wherein seven cousins, who live in the same house shared an unbreakable bond. The show featured some beautiful places and palaces of Jaipur.

2. Bin Kuch Kahe

Bin Kuch Kahe was a comedy drama aired on Zee TV. The show was set and entirely shot in Jaipur. The story was based on the lives of three sisters, who lived in a dysfunctional family.

3. Ek Rishta Saajhedari Ka

Sony TV’s Ek Rishta Saajhedari Ka was a family drama set in the gorgeous city of Jaipur. The story revolved around two families who set up their daughter and son for marrying each other and how the couple decides to make their marriage an equal partnership for supporting both the families.

4. Mrs. Kaushik Ki Paanch Bahuein

Mrs. Kaushik Ki Paanch Bahuein depicted the story of family, Kaushiks, living in Jaipur. Mrs. Kaushik, who lives with her husband, five sons and four daughter-in-laws, has dominated the family for years and things take a turn when her beloved son, Karthik marries a carefree girl.

5. Main Bhi Ardhangini

And TV’s Main Bhi Ardhagini is a supernatural drama set and shot in Jaipur. In the show, a spirit is trying to unite her husband with his childhood friend and haunt those who did wrong to her.
