Unbelievable! Deepika Padukone charges a massive amount for '83

Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are all set to share screen space again and this time for Kabir Khan's directorial '83. The real-life partners will be playing the reel life husband and wife in this film. The film '83 will be portraying the real-life story of former Indian cricket captain Kapil Dev and Deepika will be enacting his wife Romi Bhatia.

However, reports suggest that Deepika was reluctant to step aside from a title character and play a side role in the film. After paying back-to-back central characters in her previous releases, reports claim Deepika was not certain whether she wanted to play a non-central character.

“She was in two minds, not certain if she wanted to play a non-central character,” said a source close to Deccan Chronicle. What finally convinced Deepika to take up the role, then? “Mostly Ranveer, and perhaps the zeros on the cheque?” the source further added.

Reports also claim that Deepika Padukone has been paid a cheque of Rs 14 crores to agree to be a part of '83.
