Vicky Kaushal kicked off 2025 with a powerful performance as Maratha King Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj in Laxman Utekar's "Chhaava." The historical action film, a captivating blend of drama and combat, has resonated with audiences, earning rave reviews and drawing crowds to theaters. "Chhaava" continues to dominate the box office, a testament to its compelling narrative and captivating visuals.
Now, Vicky's "Bad Newz" co-star, Triptii Dimri, has joined the chorus of praise for the film. In a recent Instagram post, she lauded the entire team behind "Chhaava," acknowledging their dedication and talent in bringing this epic story to life. The film's success is a testament to the collective effort of the cast and crew, and Triptii's heartfelt appreciation underscores the impact of their hard work.

She further added, “The hard work and passion of the entire team are visible in every detail. Big cheers to team Chhaava, you guys crushed it. @laxman.utekar #dineshvijan.”

Vicky Kaushal's portrayal of the Maratha warrior was a revelation, while Rashmika Mandanna's charm as Yesubai Bhonsale, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj's wife, captivated audiences. Akshaye Khanna's portrayal of Aurangzeb in the historical action film was equally impressive, leaving viewers in awe of his performance.
Directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films, Chhaava is a historical action film that chronicles the life of Maratha king Sambhaji, portrayed by Vicky Kaushal. The cast also features Rashmika Mandanna as Maharani Yesubai, Akshaye Khanna as Aurangzeb, Ashutosh Rana as Sarsenapati Hambirao Mohite, and Divya Dutta as Soyarabai. This film is based on the Marathi novel Chhava by Shivaji Sawant. The musical score and soundtrack are crafted by A. R. Rahman, with lyrics written by Irshad Kamil.
While Chhaava is currently in theatres, if a report by OTTplay is to be believed, the film is expected to premiere on Netflix after completing its time in cinemas. However, unlike many recent releases where streaming partnerships are announced in advance, the makers of Chhaava have kept details under wraps. Typically, films land on streaming platforms 45–60 days post-release, but an official update from the team is still awaited.
