'The people who told me, I'm wasting my time doing regional films are so wrong : Manasi Parekh!

The year 2022 was quite an example of how a movie's success is not proportional to the budget spent or a superstar's presence as Bollywood gave the least number of blockbuster hits last year. The wave of regional cinema began a couple of few years ago & the number of their Bollywood remakes being made was proof that regional movies hit the bull's eye & got their game right. 

This year it is not the commercial Hindi films but off beat movies that have made it to the prestigious Oscars being nominated putting India on the world map. 

Actress, singer & mother & also a theatre performer Manasi Parekh has had quite a new year. The only actress this year to have two regional films running successfully in theatres in Gujarat, Kutch Express & now Congratulations. 

Kutch Express starring Manasi Parekh & Ratna Pathak Shah also marks the former's second film as a producer, received critical acclaim for the subject, whereas Congratulations starring Sharman Joshi is picking up quickly for its unique concept of parenthood. 

An excited Parekh shares, 'It’s been an incredible beginning to 2023! With Kutch express running in full form in theatres in its 6th week and Congratulations that released yesterday , I am feeling on top of the world!  For all the people who told me that I am wasting time doing regional films, my work is testament to the fact that whatever language it is, if you are good, people notice you, appreciate you and want to see more of you. To see our posters along side big Bollywood films and to have people pay money to watch films I am acting in is a very special place to be in.'

'I have worked very hard to come to this stage and it makes me want to work even harder.  Marriage, motherhood and living a full life have added to my experiences as an actor and I am forever grateful, '  Manasi adds.
