The Ellen DeGeneres Show Has Been Renewed For Three More Years!

Popular American comedy talk show The Ellen DeGeneres Show hosted by American comedienne, writer and producer Ellen DeGeneres is one of the most popular celeb chat show. The show has received 166 Daytime Emmy Award Nominations and has won 61 Daytime Emmy Awards as of 2019, including four for Outstanding Talk Show and seven for Outstanding Talk show: Entertainment, surpassing the record held by The Oprah Winfrey Show, which won nine. The show also won 17 People’s Choice Awards.

Well, recently on Tuesday, Ellen shared a big news announcing the renewal of her show for three more seasons. That means the show will stick around till 2022. Currently in it’s 16th season, the show had previously been renewed through 2019-2020. “I’m excited to announce that I’ll be doing my show for three more years,” DeGeneres said Tuesday. “Mostly because I love doing it so much every day, but also because that takes me to the end of my car lease". DeGeneres teased the news during the taping of an episode that will be shown Wednesday.

She also tweeted out the news: "Doing this show has been the ride of my life "

Bollywood actors Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone have also graced the The Ellen Show and represented India on a global platform. 

Recently, Ellen also shared Indian sprinter Dutee Chand's post on her coming out as a lesbian and showed her support towards Dutee. Chand, a 100 meter record holder and winner of two Asian Games silver medals, recently opened up about her sexual orientation and revealed that she is in a same-sex relationship with a girl from her hometown.

Praising Chand for embracing her sexuality openly, DeGeneres tweeted: "She's the 100 m record holder and the first openly gay sportsperson in India. I guess she knows a thing or two about being first. I'm so proud of her."

The show will likely return for season17 on 9th September. And, who knows, Dutee might be on her guest list!
