Sushant Singh Rajput death: AIIMS report Refutes murder theories; CBI likely to probe into "abetment to suicide"

A lot has conspired about Sushant Singh Rajput’s death and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has been working relentlessly ever since the Supreme Court directed the investigation towards CBI.

While the case was initially registered as suicide, the agency studied each and every angle carefully and also decided to consult a team of AIIMS for its medico-legal opinion on the post-mortem of Sushant Singh Rajput. 

Now, the AIIMS team in its report to CBI has ruled out the theories of poisoning and strangling floated by Sushant Singh Rajput’s family and lawyer. The agency will be probing into the original charge of ‘abetment to suicide’ that was listed by the Bihar police.

The NDTV report also mentioned that the AIIMS panel completed the examination and closed the file after giving conclusive medico-legal opinion in this case and the CBI is corroborating the report with their investigation.

The report from AIIMS also dismissed all the angles including the theories of poisoning and strangling. The report further stated that the CBI is likely to continue its probe into "abetment to suicide", the charge that was originally listed by the Bihar Police.

Mumbai’s Cooper Hospital’s autopsy found "asphyxia due to hanging" as the cause of death and the AIIMS panel has concurred with that opinion. The circumstantial evidence also suggests that it was a case of suicide and not murder.

Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead on June 14 in his Mumbai apartment. Though the Mumbai police, based on the autopsy, called it a suicide. The wild speculations followed by the pool of rumors and allegations on social media from SSR’s family raised doubts that became a part of an overall CBI investigation.
