Sunny Deol, known for his tough on-screen persona, displayed a rare emotional moment at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Panaji, Goa. Engaging in a conversation with his longstanding collaborators – filmmakers Rahul Rawail, Anil Sharma, and Rajkumar Santoshi – Sunny got teary-eyed, visibly moved by the impact they had on his career.

In a circulating video from the event, the emotional exchange captures Sunny's tears, triggered by a poignant remark from Rajkumar Santoshi. Although the specific comment isn't audible, a quote from Santoshi in The Indian Express reads, "I believe that the industry has not done justice to Sunny’s talent. But God has done justice," marking the moment when Sunny breaks down.

Reflecting on his journey, Sunny shared that he has been really very lucky, "I just get too emotional, that’s my problem. I was very fortunate. I started with Rahul. He gave me three beautiful films. Some worked, some didn’t. But till today, people remember those films. I am standing here because of my films."

He further said after Gadar, which was a massive hit, his struggle period had started because subjects or scripts were not offered to him and things were not happening. Even though he did some films in between, there was a gap of 20 years. But he did not give up. He was always moving forward.

For the unversed, Sunny made his debut with Rahul's 1983 romantic film Betaab. Rising to fame in the 1990s with Rajkumar Santoshi's blockbusters like Ghayal. Notably, Sunny achieved major success with Anil Sharma, particularly in Gadar: Ek Prem Katha and its recent sequel, Gadar 2, surpassing ₹500 crore at the domestic box office.
