In an interview, the actor expressed his concerns about the impact of soaring tomato prices on households, including his own. However, his statement received criticism from a section of netizens who believed it undermined the sentiments of farmers. Now, Shetty has issued an apology and addressed the negativity and online hate he has been facing.
During his conversation with Aaj Tak, he discussed about the price surge and said, "My wife only brings vegetables that are fresh and last for only a couple of days. We prefer to have fresh vegetables. However, the prices of tomatoes have increased lately, affecting people like us in the kitchen."

He expressed his unwavering support for them and stressed the significance of promoting indigenous products. As a hotelier, Shetty has always maintained direct connections with farmers and values their contributions to his life and profession.
The actor sincerely apologized if any of his statements were misinterpreted or caused harm to the farming community.
On the professional front, Suniel Shetty was last seen in the film "Hunter: Tootega Nahi Todega." His upcoming project, eagerly awaited by fans, is the much-anticipated "Hera Pheri 3," in which he will share the screen with Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal in lead roles.
