Athiya Shetty’s First Mother’s Day Marked by Nostalgic Post from Suniel Shetty

Athiya Shetty celebrated a special milestone this Sunday—her first Mother’s Day. The actor and her husband, cricketer KL Rahul, welcomed their daughter, Evaarah, on March 24, 2025. The day was made more emotional by a touching tribute from her father, Suniel Shetty.

Sharing a heartfelt moment on Instagram, Suniel posted a throwback photo from Athiya’s childhood. In the image, a young Suniel Shetty is seen holding baby Athiya in his arms. He captioned the story, “Happy first Mother’s Day @athiyashetty,” adding red heart emojis. Athiya responded with a sweet note of her own, writing, “But still your baby.”

Athiya and KL Rahul tied the knot in January 2023 in an intimate ceremony at Suniel Shetty’s farmhouse in Khandala. The couple had confirmed their pregnancy in November 2024 and shared the news of their daughter’s birth through a joint Instagram post on March 24. The post read: “Blessed with a Baby Girl. 24.03.2025. Athiya And Rahul.”

A few weeks later, on KL Rahul’s birthday in April, they revealed their daughter's name, Evaarah. Along with the name, they posted the first glimpse of their baby. The image showed Rahul holding the newborn while Athiya stood beside him. The caption read, “Our baby girl, our everything. Evaarah/ ????? ~ Gift of God.”

In an Instagram story, Athiya also explained the full name—Evaarah Vipula Rahul. She mentioned that ‘Evaarah’ means “Gift of God,” while ‘Vipula’ is in honour of her great-grandmother. ‘Rahul’ represents her father’s name.

Suniel Shetty, who is now embracing the role of grandfather, shared his joy in a recent interview with ANI. “She is not a superstar – she is a super duper star,” he said, expressing how he often finds himself checking his phone just to look at his granddaughter’s photos. “Baar baar phone ke paas jaata hoon sirf uski photo dekhne ke liye,” he added.

The Shetty-Rahul family has chosen to keep their celebrations personal, but moments like these offer glimpses into their new chapter of parenthood and grandparenthood.
