Sujata Thakkar bags Star Plus’ Maa

India Forums is back with an exclusive update from the world of television. We’ve been on the forefront in reporting updates about Star Plus’ upcoming show titled ‘Maa’ produced by Gul Khan’s Four Lions Films and Karishma Jain.

As per reports actors like Monika Khanna, Iris Maity, Himanshoo Malhotra, Paridhi Jain, Vaishnavi Prajapati among others have been roped in for the show. India Forums exclusively reported about Deepali Pansare being roped in for the show. Reports have it that Iris will play a successful dancer while Monica will essay a role of a dancer who hasn’t achieved fame and appreciation. Monica is likely to play a negative character.

Now, the latest update is that actress Sujata Thakkar has also bagged the show. A source close to the project revealed, “Earlier actress Shubhangi Latkar was locked for the role. However, the actress has taken up Qissago Telefilms’ Zindagi Mere Ghar Aana and hence the makers looked out for her replacement and further locked Sujata Thakkar”.

Sujata is known for her stint in shows like Just Mohabbat, Badalte Rishton Ki Dastaan, Aek Chabhi Hai Padoss Mein among various others. We couldn’t connect with her for a comment.

Sources have it that the show has already hit the floors as the shooting of the same has begun in Mumbai.

Currently, Gul Khan’s shows like Imlie and Ishq Par Zor Nahin are earning good response from the viewers. The ace producer also has a few other projects in the pipeline.
