SS Rajamouli's 'RRR' postponed indefinitely; Reports suggest why it may not even release before Jan 2022

The release of Alia Bhatt’s look from SS Rajamouli's magnum opus 'RRR' shocked the fans as the actress looked nothing but elegant. The actress will be essaying the character of Sita from the film and the glimpse of her first look has left the fans excited to watch the favourite actress on big-screen. 

However, the Covid-19 crisis has proved to be one of the difficult times for the movie makers as the nation is reeling from the impact of the pandemic. 

Director SS  Rajamouli has faced persistent rough weather due to the pandemic and he is reportedly feeling the pandemic’s pinch harder. The major reason is known to be the repeatedly changing release dates. 

A recent Spotboye report suggests that the film’s release date has been postponed repeatedly and the most recent release date is considered to be October 13, 2021, which still stands annulled.

The mega budgeted film stars a mighty star cast including Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt alongside Ram Charan and NTR Jr.

The report also quoted one of the actors - wishing to be anonymous - said, “It’s not only the escalation in Covid cases and the casualties. Now, one of the film’s leading men (NTR Jr) has tested positive. Prior to him, Ramcharan tested positive. Alia, who is yet to start shooting with  Rajamouli, has also been tested positive for Covid.”

The actor anonymously informed that it does not leave RRR in a very happy place and there is a lot of shooting yet to be completed. “Even if the Covid crisis improves by October there is no way Raja Sir can complete and release the film on time(in October)”, the actor added. 

Meanwhile, the report quoted a source guessing about the possible release date of RR and said, “Not before January 2022, and that is a conservative estimate. The delay can be much much more.”

RRR is a period drama like never before, a fictional take on the younger days of celebrated freedom fighters Komaram Bheem and Alluri Seetharamaraju. While Jr. NTR plays Bheem, Alia Bhatt will be seen playing Sita in the film.
