Sreeram Chandra is Indian Idol 5..

Finally, a bright talent from South India gets recognized as Andhra boy Sreeram Chandra wins the coveted title of Indian Idol 5 in yesterday's Grand Finale of Sony's Indian Idol.

After Karunya another budding talent from Andhra missed the bus to bag the title, Sreeram out beat Gujju Bhoom I Trivedi and Agra boy Rakesh Maini at the Finale held at the Filmistan Studio on Sunday, August 15th.

Sreeram was one of the favorites from the very beginning, and was praised time and again by all the three judges for his flawless versatile singing. Amitabh Bachchan felicitated Sreeram and declared him as the winner.

As the new Indian Idol, twenty-five-year-old Sreeram has bagged a Rs 50 lakh cash prize, a car, a motorbike, a one-year contract with Sony TV and a chance to sing in one of the forthcoming movies of Yashraj Films.

Sreeram, who has already recorded a song with Shreya Ghoshal for an upcoming movie, thanked all those who wished for his victory and voted for him.

The Finale was a stupendous night filled with joyful and soul stirring music. The nite was graced by Amitabh Bachchan and Kareena Kapoor, along with many talents from the music industry.

In all, Indian Idol 5 got a deserving winner and gave a budding talent to the music industry…
