Squid Game 2: Park Sung-Hoon aka Hyun-Ju faces harsh criticism from netizens; upcoming show under scanner?

Squid Game 2 has topped Netflix charts in 93 countries. It is a bumper opening for the second season of Hwang Dong-Hyuk’s show. One of the actors who is getting immense love is Park Sung-Hoon. Fans will identify him from The Glory where he played the evil elite club owner Jeon Jae-Joon. On Squid Game 2, he played the part of Hyun-Ju, a former special forces soldier who identifies himself as a woman. His purpose of coming on the show is to fund his sex-change surgeries so he can finally get the identity he wants. Park Sung Hoon’s casting was called out as many felt a transgender actor could have been cast on the show instead of a cis man. But his performance won over everyone.

A day before, he uploaded an 18+ parody of Squid Game on his Instagram. It was the cover of an adult video featuring nude Japanese women. Netizens highlighted that the video was that of rape porn, which makes it extremely disgusting. In the parody video, women players who fail in the games get sexually assaulted. Park Sung Hoon’s agency said that his DMs were flooded with posts after the show went on air. It seems he uploaded that pic unintentionally. Park Sung Hoon’s agency said he admitted his mistake and regretted it.

As of now, South Korea is mourning the death of over 170 passengers who died in the one of the most horrific aviation disasters of all time.
