Netflix' Sacred Games turned out to be a huge platform for the cast and crew. Withthe kind of recognition that the first season received, the second season is definitely going to be much more bigger.
And from amongst all the brilliant performances, we noticed how actress Sukhmani Sadana's role of 'Mikki' was miniscule, but also very impactful. She played Ganesh Gaitonde's (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) right hand man Bunty's (Jatin Sarna) sister.
Her character was supposed to get married to another of Ganesh' henchmen Chota Badariya (Anil Charanjeet), before Ganesh kills him. And that was the last we saw of Mikki.
Ask her why she choose such a small role in the acclaimed web series, Sukhmani says, "Because I knew, I was told by my casting director and my director that I have a very small role but they said it's a powerful one. And I saw the script and I knew that it was just a couple of scenes may be in the season, but I knew that it's a powerful role."
"And my dialogues were really good and whenever Mikki came on screen, she came with a lot of authority and power. And I really liked that, so I chose to do Sacred Games for that," she continued.
Stressing on how 'impactful' a role should be, Sukhmani says, "And I always feel like as an actor, sometimes you don't have to see your screen time and see how much you are there on screen, but how good it is. Because even if I came for such few scenes its shocking how everybody has seen me play the role of Mikki in the series. There's not one person I know who has not messaged or called me. Everybody has noticed, the whole country has watched Sacred Games. So visibility is great, appreciation for your acting in a show like this is great. Because the directors are so good and it's Netflix, its Phantom. Its a first original series, so you know I knew that the project will be good."
Well, the role of Mikki did seem to work wonders for Sukhmani, didn't it?
