Sohum Shah on his versatility: I am addicted to playing different kinds of roles, love experimenting

The official trailer for the upcoming political drama series 'Maharani season 2' has finally been released.

In the trailer, Huma Qureshi is seen playing Rani Bharti, the state of Bihar's female chief minister. As the state's violence rises, she pledges to take on the thugs. The series also includes Sohum Shah, Amit Sial, and Neha Chouhan in prominent roles, in addition to Huma.

Before its release, India Forums got in touch with the Tumbbad fame, Sohum Shah, and interacted with him about the show, his character, and other things. 

Talking about the change his character has witnessed in the 2nd season, Sohum said, 

"The role has changed completely. First season main everyone used to think when will Bheem do something because he is just lying on the bed. It's a one-dimensional character in 2nd season the character is quite complex because he is handling his professional life, and personal life and he has an ideology."

When asked on taking up a versatile role, be it Theseus or Tumbbad, or Maharani, is there anything he keeps in mind while he chooses different roles? 

Talking about this Sohum said,

"mai yaha aaya tha srk ban ne, but then yaha aake pata chala ki bhagwan ne shah rukh khan toh ek hi banaya hai, so I had to change my line. I destiny offers you and you have to move that flow. I got Theseus and I made it, I got Tumbaad, I did it,  so I don't have a fixed plan but now I have got used to it and I am addicted to playing different kinds of roles. I love experimenting with my body, and looks and so I look forward to such kinds of roles."

Talking about future projects he mentioned that 

"I am doing a show called 'Dahaad' which will see me as a police officer in the khaki uniform and this is the first time I will sporting this.  I am also doing a comedy film, which again I am doing for the first time in my life. It's a clownish character and a silent film being produced by Luv Ranjan".

Helmed by Ravindra Gautam, the series Maharani is all set to stream on Sony Liv from August 25, 2022.
