Zee TV’s popular fiction series Jamai No. 1 is all set to deliver an emotionally charged episode, with actress Simaran Kaur, who plays the role of Riddhi, at the center of a powerful and intense storyline. In a crucial upcoming scene, Riddhi finds herself in a dire situation when her on-screen father-in-law suddenly suffers a heart attack. With no one around to help and time running out, she takes charge—jumping into a nearby auto-rickshaw and driving him to the hospital in a desperate bid to save his life.

This is one of the most unique things I’ve ever done for a role! I had never even sat in the driver’s seat of an auto before, so learning it on the spot gave the scene a really raw, real energy. The unpredictability made it more exciting.

To make this dramatic sequence feel authentic, Simaran chose to perform the entire scene herself, without a stunt double. What made it even more challenging was the fact that she had never driven an auto-rickshaw before. Determined to rise to the occasion, she learned to drive it just an hour before the shoot. With support and safety guidance from the production crew, she pulled off the scene under high-pressure circumstances.

Sharing her thoughts on the experience, Simaran said, “This is one of the most unique things I’ve ever done for a role! I had never even sat in the driver’s seat of an auto before, so learning it on the spot gave the scene a really raw, real energy. The unpredictability made it more exciting. I felt completely supported by the team—they were calm, patient, and ensured my safety at every step. It was refreshing to try something so different, and I’m excited for the audience to witness this side of Riddhi.”

Simaran’s real-life bravery mirrors her character’s strength, and the gripping episode promises a wave of emotions, twists, and revelations as Riddhi and Neel (played by Abhishek Malik) face a new chapter in their journey.
