Sikandar: Ameesha Patel Dismisses Age Gap Criticism on Salman-Rashmika Pairing as “Yeh Bewakufi Ki Baatein Hai

Ameesha Patel recently addressed the buzz surrounding the age difference between Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna in their film Sikandar. The movie released on March 30, 2025, and though it’s receiving mixed reviews, it’s been doing decent business at the box office. Ameesha, who worked with Salman in Yeh Hai Jalwa, praised him openly and responded to the age gap criticism in a straightforward manner.

While talking to the paparazzi in Mumbai, Ameesha said that people always have something to say and dismissed the trolling. She stated, “Kuch toh log kahenge logo ka kaam hai kehna. Yeh bewakufi ki baatein hai.” She clearly meant that such talk should not be taken seriously.

She also gave an example from her own experience. Ameesha shared that she too had a big age difference with her co-star Sunny Deol in Gadar. “Mere aur Sunny ji ke bhi beech mein 20 years ka age gap hai, lekin jab jodi chalti hai toh chalti hai, aur kuch nahi keh sakte,” she added. According to her, what matters most is the chemistry on screen, not the real age difference.

Ameesha also mentioned that Sikandar has all the ingredients of a good entertainer – from action and drama to catchy songs and emotions. She believes the audience is enjoying the film and that’s what really counts.

Directed by AR Murugadoss, Sikandar stars Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles. The film also features Prateik Babbar, Kajal Aggarwal, Sharman Joshi, Sathyaraj, and debutant Anjini Dhawan. It has been produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under Salman Khan Films and Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment.

Meanwhile, Salman Khan will soon be seen with Sanjay Dutt in their next film, reportedly titled Ganga Ram. Directed by debutant Krrish Ahir, it promises to be an action-packed ride. Fans are already excited for this new collaboration.
