The handsome looking Sid Makkar who has played lead roles in the Bollywood films like Turning 30, Dus Tola, Straight, Luck by Chance is all set to mark his entry into Zee TV's Lajwanti.
But why would actors who have a Bollywood career ahead of them jump into to do a daily television soap?
Tellybuzz, quizzed him about the same and we were taken by surprise by what he had to say!
Sid quipped, "After doing Dariba Diaries on Epic Channel, I signed two films but it did not manage to hit the big screen, so I packed my bags and went on a sabbatical in Goa for two weeks. It is then when I decided that I will take up whatever interesting comes my way next. And Lajwanti came my way.
It has been long that I have done a Bollywood film too actually. So doing a television daily was not something I was inclined to. Infact, I gave a very bad audition deliberately as I wasn't interested in doing TV. Later Ila Bedi, my Producer asked me to give a second audition, which was pretty good. It was Ila's conviction that got me in the show. Also, when I learnt about the storyline I was elated and excited as it was nothing like a cliched show." The actor added.
Shedding some light on his plans to do Bollywood fims, Sid said, "I would look forward to doing a Bollywood movie too but post Lajwanti. I would never opt out of anything substantial coming my way."
Sid, we wish you luck with your stint in Lajwanti!
