After intriguing content like Asur and Marzi, Voot Select recently released it's web series 'Illegal' Starring Piyush Mishra, Neha Sharma, Akshay Oberoi, Satyadeep Mishra and Kubbra Sait. The series has received immense love from the audience and we got in touch with Actor Shourya Lathar who played a crucial role in the series. Shourya spoke to us about his experience, his character, response from the viewers and much more:
Talking about the great response from the fans for the series, Shourya said, "First of all, thanks to the audience who are loving this web series and giving it such a great response. Infact, when we were shooting for this, I felt that it would be loved by the viewers because of the entire cast and director. The work under Vikram Bhatt's directon is done so beautifully that it attracts the audience. So I was sure that audience would love this and thank you so much for giving it such a wonderful response."
"As an actor, there is no worse thing about a character that you essay on screen. When I'm playing my character, I'm just in involved in it."
When asked him what compelled him to take up this project, he said, "First of all, my casting director gave me a description about this character and told me that my scene will be with the main lead. So I thought that yes, I should go and check out the narration of this character. When I read the narration, I got involved in this character because of Vikram Bhatt. So I felt very good and I chose this and started shooting with Vikram sir."
Shourya also opened up about his experience working with the entire cast of 'Illegal'. "The whole cast, Neha Sharma, Akshay Oberoi, Piyush Mishra sir, I can't describe it in words how were they and how not. But right now, we were learning under them and I felt fortunate and lucky to get an opportunity to shoot with them. I learnt a lot of things from them, Vikram Bhatt and the entire cast. They never made me feel anything like I'm a playing a short character or something like that."
"Infact we shot for this long back and the name of the series was also different then, they changed it later. It was supposed to release a little early but due to some post production, I don't know the reason but it had released now. I am really glad by the response from the audience," he added.
In the on going lockdown, the content on the digital medium has been a huge entertainment for the fans. Speaking about whether he would incline more towards the digital space in future, Shourya said, "Yes, it's a bad situation that we are all stuck in the lockdown period but as a safety we have to stay in home. Alot of projects of mine which were going on have been pushed further due to the lockdown. For now, I'll like to move towards the digital space and look for more web series."
