Shakti Mohan grieved by the New York flooding

Dancer and actress Shakti Mohan who recently spent four memorable months in New York City is deeply grieved by the New York flooding. Manhattan where she was living, the areas where she went cycling and jogging including 12th Avenue are now under water. Does she feel that if a similar flood had struck India the situation would have been far worse? She replies, "Flood management would surely be tougher in India. The city did take all the precautions." she replies.

Though she doesn't have close relatives living in New York she has many good friends living in the city. To the best of her knowledge all her friends are safe. Some of her friends insist that media is given a hyped image of the floods. Others say that they have been affected by the flood. Shakti is praying that everything returns back to normal soon and so that the spirit of the city isn't shattered.
