Shahrukh Khan charms Delhi, but bails out on Mumbai..

As Star Plus begins a new venture in Indian Entertainment with ‘Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hai?’, Shahrukh Khan was declared the Brand Ambassador of the show and the channel organized big-scale Press Conferences in Delhi and Mumbai last week.

As the media personals poured in to meet the ‘Badshah of Bollywood’ at the meet in Delhi on February 12th, SRK spread his ‘Charisma’ all over; the star in true ‘SRK style’ blew the audience off their feet, talked about the show, and by being him self, he showed that he was a great ‘Entertainer’. This event surely brought out the ‘Child’ in SRK, and as Siddharth Basu, Head of Synergy Adlabs says, “Shahrukh believes that he is still a kid. So you will see him giving this reality show a new dimension as the host”.

But the scene at Mumbai on February 13th was quite different. As the ITC Grand Central rolled the ‘Red Carpet’ for the host, SRK in the midst of media officials gathered from all over, all were in for a shock when Uday Shankar, the CEO of Star India Pvt. Ltd., announced that Shahrukh Khan will not be able to make it to the conference. Now what was the reason? A riot scare that hit the city of Mumbai following the arrest of Raj Thackeray! The reason let out by the channel was that Shahrukh’s security guards would not allow him to get out of the house, even though SRK insisted on going.

Now talking about free will, this is one of the side effects of being a ‘Brand Name’…
