Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Kabir Singh has turned out to be the actor’s highest grossing film throughout his entire career span. The film starred Kiara Advani as the female lead and has crossed Rs 275 crore at the box office. Despite the criticism and allegations against the film, it has managed to enter the list of top 10 grossers of all-time and has truly acted as a game changer for both the leading actors, who received massive appreciation for their performances!
Post Kabir Singh, Shahid has been approached by many filmmakers with new scripts, thanks to his spectacular performance and style on screen. The 38-year-old actor has reportedly been approached for the remake of the recent Telugu hit Jersey, which featured Nani and Shraddha Srinath.
Owing to Kabir Singh’s success, the Haider actor has hiked his fees and is all set to be listed among the highest-paid actors in Bollywood. As per a report in BollywoodLIfe, Shahid has demanded a humongous amount of Rs 40 crore for the film! Well, that’s quite a huge amount.
Earlier there were reports that Dharma head Karan Johar had bagged the rights of the film and would remake it under his banner, but the source of the entertainment website states that Dil Raju and Allu Aravind will invest in this Bollywood venture under their respective banners of Sri Venkateswara Creations and Geetha Arts.
For the unaware, Jersey is a Telugu sports drama film, which essays the story of a failed cricketer, who returns to the game in his late thirties driven by the desire to represent the Indian cricket team and fulfil his son's wish for a jersey as a gift.
