Owing to the Coronavirus pandemic, the Maharashtra government took the unprecedented step of ordering all theatres, gyms, swimming pools and auditoriums to be shut till March 31, 2020.
However, Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput were spotted at an upscale gym in Bandra, AntiGravity Club on Sunday evening. As per a Mumbai Mirror report, the gym opened at 5.30 pm exclusively for the celebrity couple, who spent two hours there.
Shahid and Mira were papped at the gym, post which the duo exited through a different gate. After spotting the paparazzi they decided to exit from the behind gate to avoid getting clicked. After the pictures surfaced online, the couple was massively trolled for not following the rules and going to the gym amidst coronavirus lockdown.
However, the gym’s owner Yudhishthir Jaising cleared the air as he stated that Shahid was not working out at the gym. “He has been shooting in Chandigarh and had asked me to get some equipment after he sustained an injury (tendonitis). I was showing him the right way to use the equipment. In any case, we work out and train together at each other’s houses” the owner stated.
Jaisingh maintained that the AntiGravity Club was “completely unoperational” after Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray’s order, and claimed: “It was only Shahid, Mira and me… just friends chilling on a Sunday evening.”
Meanwhile, it was just a few days back when Shahid had announced that the shooting of his upcoming film Jersey has been pushed due to the coronavirus outbreak. “At a time like this it is our social responsibility to do everything in our capacity to curb the spread of this virus. Team #Jersey is suspending shoot so as to enable all unit members to be with their families and in the safety of their homes. Be responsible. Stay safe” the actor shared on Twitter.
Meanwhile, speaking of Jersey, the film is a remake of the Telugu film of the same name and also stars Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapur in pivotal roles.
