Shah Rukh Khan and Rajkumar Hirani

We are now less than two days away from Dunki and the anticipation has been extreme for the longest time now. From the dream collaboration of Shah Rukh Khan and director Rajkumar Hirani to the fact that SRK is on a hot streak of a lifetime, everything seems to fall in place for the film.

However, another streak that Khan has continued this year has been being limited to his media interactions, especially before the film's release. But it isn't that all questions remain unanswered, especially with a film like Dunki, where everything is a bigger mystery. What is Dunki? How did SRK and Hirani come on the same page? How was the experience shooting for the film? What led to the film's idea and title?

Hence, even though there might be limited media interaction so far, the team of Dunki comprising SRK, director Hirani and actor Taapsee Pannu sat together in a special segment for Red Chillies' YouTube channel and had a good half-hour conversation which was filled with laughter and answers to several questions.

In the same segment, there was also a moment where SRK mentioned how he aspired to have him headlining the posters of the film 'In & As', just like he saw it for Sajnay Dutt in Munnabhai MBBS and Aamir Khan in PK. He mentioned how he had a 'chull' (urge) to have that, but that was left unfulfilled as nobody takes him as 'in & as.' He also mentioned how when Hirani said that our film's name is Dunki, to which he responded, 'Donkey?' then Hirani said 'No, Dunki'. To this, he said, whatever it is, just do it, and he did the film.

Khan also joked that it wouldn't have looked nice to see Shah Rukh Khan in & and Donkey because he has some reputation amongst the fans. Continuing the jest, Hirani said that he might not have gotten the title yet, but he has gotten a full song dedicated to his character, Hardy.

Khan continued joking that 'it's only for him' and 'it's only about him.' Hirani also took the example saying how Gandhiji had a song Bande Mein Tha Dum in large Raho Munnabhai - just like that, Hardy has the song, Banda, in this film.
